Bolivia: Five departments to vote on greater autonomy
Development: On 17 September Bolivia’s supreme electoral court (TSE) banned any campaigning ahead of the 20 September referenda scheduled to take place in five of the country’s nine departments (La Paz, Oruro, Cochabamba, Chuquisaca and Potosí) on whether or not to approve autonomy statutes that would grant local governments greater powers.
