CHILE | CorteIDH backs Mapuche on antiterrorism law. On 29 July the Inter-American court of Human Rights (CorteIDH) ordered Chile to overturn the convictions of eight Mapuche activists jailed under the country’s anti-terrorism law. This comes just as President Michelle Bachelet is facing criticism from the Right and business circles for her refusal to use the anti-terrorism law in relation to the Mapuche conflict.
