Two major reports published by newspapers in the US and Mexico have revealed details of covert US operations in Colombia and Mexico — run by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the former and by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in the latter. In Colombia the CIA acted with the full knowledge of the government; in Mexico, apparently not.
