Caricom serious about seeking reparations for slavery

One result of the recent Caribbean Community (Caricom) summit was the agreement to establish a joint committee on reparations, tasked with exploring the possibility of seeking compensation from three European countries: the UK, France, and the Netherlands for their role in the slave trade. That Caricom is serious about this is suggested by the fact that representatives have since approached a British law firm to consider its legal case.
