COSTA RICA Taxi party shakes up political milieu
The launch of a political party for taxi drivers and transport workers, Partido de los Transportistas (PT), is providing a real novelty ahead of Costa Rica’s February 2014 general election – a lacklustre contest which has otherwise attracted little public attention or interest. This is in part due to uncertainty over opposition candidates and the continued unpopularity of President Laura Chinchilla’s government.
