Haiti moves closer to getting new army

President Michel Martelly looks set to achieve a controversial objective. Brazil’s defence minister, Celso Amorim, recently revealed that the government of President Dilma Rousseff has agreed to assist Haiti in re-establishing a national army to eventually replace the Brazil-led UN stabilisation mission (Minustah), which is currently in its eighth year.
