ECUADOR: Consolidating after wild years

Ecuador’s wildly fluctuating GDP growth will stabilise at 4.5%, according to a report released in mid June by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (Eclac). GDP growth reached 7.2% in 2008, plummeted to 0.4% in 2009, recovered to 3.6% in 2010 and soared to 7.8% in 2011.
