HONDURAS: Digging for gold

Santos Gabino Carvajal, the president of the national mining association, Anamimh (Asociación Nacional de Minería Metálica de Honduras) has called on congress to finally pass a mining law that’s been stuck in the legislature for eight years, saying that the lack of an up-to-date regulatory framework means that 151 expressions of interest by national and foreign companies are “paralysed” at the national directorate for mining development, Defomin (Dirección Ejecutiva de Fomento a la Minería).
