GRENADA: Damaged prime minister survives no confidence motion

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) government of Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has been struggling to maintain its cohesion since the resignation on 30 April of tourism and civil aviation minister, Peter David. The difficulties were immediately exploited by opposition New National Party (NNP) leader, Dr Keith Mitchell who called a vote of no confidence in the government on 15 May, which, in the event, the government survived.
