In brief: Argentina records second consecutive monthly budget surplus

*Argentina’s economy ministry has registered a budget surplus of Ar$338.11bn (US$397m) in February, following January’s surplus of Ar$518.41bn. The primary surplus in February stood at Ar$1.23trn, compared to Ar$2.01trn the previous month. Despite the monthly decreases, Argentina’s government led by President Javier Milei celebrated the results as the second consecutive month of budget and primary surplus. Prior to January’s results, a budget surplus had not been registered for over a decade.
