* Brazil’s central bank (BCB) has released the IBC-Br economic activity index, used as a proxy to anticipate GDP figures, for September, showing a monthly drop in activity of 0.06%. This comes after August saw a monthly decrease of 0.77%. The IBC-Br for the third quarter of 2023 showed a decrease of 0.64% from Q2. However, economic activity in September rose by 0.32% from the same month last year and the accumulated economic activity for the 12 months until September 2023 showed a 2.50% increase compared to the previous 12-month period.
