On 14 August Bolivia’s consul general in Chile, José Pinelo, met with Chile’s foreign minister, Alberto van Klaveren, in the Chilean capital Santiago to discuss border issues such as migration and transnational crime. This followed a meeting between government delegations on 12 July in Iquique, Chile, regarding the longstanding issue of human and contraband trafficking as well as other border security concerns.
