BRAZIL: Indigenous leaders demand government support

On 28 July representatives from 54 indigenous peoples concluded a four-day meeting in the village of Piaraçu, Mato Grosso state, hosted by the prominent Kayapó chief and indigenous rights activist Raoni Metuktire, after which the leaders presented a manifesto with demands for Brazil’s federal government.
