* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures on international visitors which show that Mexico received 3.26m international tourists in May 2023, a 9.3% increase on the 2.99m who visited the country in May 2022. In monthly terms, the number of international visitors was up 2.9% on the 3.17m that visited Mexico in April. Furthermore, according to Inegi, total spending by international visitors was up 3% year-on-year in May 2023, increasing from US$2.23bn in May 2022 to US$2.30bn in May 2023.
