*Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) has announced that remittances to Mexico totalled US$5bn in April 2023, a 6.3% increase year-on-year. In the first four months of 2023, remittances totalled US$18.97bn, a 10.1% increase on the US$17.23bn received in the same period of the previous year. Remittances are currently on track to surpass the record US$58.49bn received last year.
