* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures showing that Mexico received 3.09m international tourists in February 2023, an 18% increase on the 2.62m who visited in February 2022. In monthly terms, the number of international visitors was down 9% on the 3.4m that visited Mexico in January. According to Inegi, total spending by international tourists was up 20.7% year-on-year in February 2023, increasing from US$2.0bn in February 2022 to US$2.4bn in February 2023.
