In brief: Argentina registers decrease in primary fiscal deficit
* Argentina has recorded a primary fiscal deficit of Ar$153.2bn (US$1.59bn) in June 2021 according to a finance ministry statement, a decrease of 39.6% on the same month in 2020. The June figure brings the overall primary deficit for the first half of 2021 to Ar$208.1bn, which is equivalent to 0.5% of GDP. Argentina closed 2020 with a primary fiscal deficit of Ar$1.75trn, equivalent to 6.5% of GDP.
