MEXICO: Security operation launched in drug hotspot
On 9 July the authorities in Mexico’s western state of Michoacán launched a new security operation to try and restore law and order in and around the municipality of Aguililla, which has been caught up in a vicious turf war between rival drug trafficking organisations (DTOs) over the last seven months, causing growing humanitarian problems.
