URUGUAY: Ministers face grilling over pandemic

Uruguay’s senate grilled cabinet ministers this week on the government’s response to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The political opposition has accused the centre-right Partido Nacional (PN, Blancos) government led by President Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou of failing to adopt appropriate measures to mitigate the public health and economic impact of the pandemic.
