PERU: Fujimori refuses to throw in the towel

With her options narrowing, Keiko Fujimori is now turning her attention to trying to secure an international audit of the second round of presidential elections staged on 6 June. The national electoral tribunal (JNE) has so far failed to find any evidence of the electoral fraud alleged by Fujimori, the presidential candidate for the right-wing Fuerza Popular (FP), who finished some 44,000 votes behind Pedro Castillo, her rival from the far-left Perú Libre (PL). Time is running out. The new president is due to be inaugurated on 28 July.
