HONDURAS-GUATEMALA: River pollution stokes bilateral tensions

On 25 June Honduras’s Environment Minister Liliam Rivera urged Guatemala to implement “immediate, more effective, and definitive solutions” to tackle pollution in the Motagua River, Guatemala’s longest river, which runs to the Gulf of Honduras, which Rivera said is depositing rubbish on Honduran beaches.
