PANAMA: ACP sets carbon neutral target for Canal

At the end of April, the Panama Canal authority (ACP) announced that the Panama Canal had begun the transition to become carbon neutral by 2030. With the Canal’s future already called into question over water shortage concerns [SSR-20-07], the announcement comes amid other claims by the government led by President Laurentino Cortizo that it is taking its commitment to tackling climate change seriously.
