COLOMBIA: Duque rocked by new resignation

The resignation of Colombia’s high commissioner for peace, Miguel Ceballos, could not have come at a worse time for President Iván Duque. As the third high-profile member of government to resign in as many weeks, his departure risks disrupting the Duque administration’s negotiations with a protest movement that has pushed it to the brink [WR-21-20]. However, his departure has been welcomed by many in the opposition who saw Ceballos as an obstacle to achieving peace in Colombia.
