In brief: Paraguay and South Korea announce electric car deal

* Paraguay’s industry minister, Luis Alberto Castiglioni, has announced that a project whereby electric vehicles made with South Korean technology would be manufactured in Paraguay would begin in 2022. Castiglioni made the announcement following a meeting with South Korea’s ambassador to Paraguay, In Shik Woo. A press release from the industry & trade ministry (MIC) notes that the MIC and Korea Automotive Technology Institute (Katech) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment and operation of a technological car parts centre in Paraguay with a view to the supply and operation of commercial electric vehicles.
