COLOMBIA: New dynamics in US-Colombia relationship?

Colombia’s President Iván Duque held meetings this week with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the regional director of the US National Security Council (NSC), as the governments of both countries sought to strengthen their cooperation in a range of areas. Two key issues on the table are the possible resumption of aerial coca eradication and the state of Colombia’s fragile peace agreement, and Duque may find himself under different pressures than those he experienced under President Joe Biden’s predecessor, Donald Trump.
