In brief: Mexico’s agricultural exports down in January

* Mexico’s agriculture ministry (Sader) has released new figures which show that agricultural exports totalled US$1.576bn in January 2021, a 12.1% drop on the same month in 2020. However, the same report showed that agro-industrial exports totalled US$1.585bn, a 9.82% increase on the same month in 2020. Overall, agri-food exports totalled US$3.161bn, while imports totalled US$2.56bn, leaving a trade surplus of US$603m.
