In brief: Peru

Peru: Peru’s energy & mining ministry (Minem) has released a report which shows that in the first half of the year Peru registered a 9.8% increase in iron production compared with the same period in 2017. Additionally, zinc production was up 4.9%, molybdenum production was up 2.6%, and steel production was up 0.8%. However, the Minem figures show that over the same period there were contractions in the production of copper (-0.2%), gold (-4.9%), silver (-5.4%), and lead (-10.1%).
