Panama: Finance & Economy Minister Gustavo Valderrama has formally presented the executive’s 2019 draft budget to the national assembly for debate. Valderrama said that the draft budget is for US$23.3bn, 2.3% lower than last year’s budget as the government led by President Juan Carlos Varela seeks to rationalise spending to reduce the fiscal deficit. The draft budget presented by Valderrama projects real GDP growth of 5.9% for next year.
