Trump moots signing new bilateral trade deal with Mexico

Colombia: On 16 July, US Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green announced US$6m in additional funding to help Colombia deal with the continued influx of Venezuelan migrants to its territory. During a visit to the Colombian border city of Cúcuta, the capital of Norte de Santander department, Green called the humanitarian crisis produced by the large influx of Venezuelan migrants into Colombia in recent months as “man-made” and criticised the “tyrannical [Nicolás] Maduro regime” in Venezuela. The new funds will be used to boost health and nutrition programmes for Venezuelan migrants, as well as providing information management services designed to better coordinate humanitarian efforts. The announcement takes total US donations to relief efforts for displaced Venezuelans to almost US$56m since 2017.
