*US President Donald Trump has stated his willingness to negotiate a new bilateral trade deal with Mexico. In a press conference before hosting a cabinet meeting, President Trump said that he has been having “very good discussions” with Mexico’s President-elect Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador. Trump also mentioned that he might try to strike a deal with the US’s southern neighbour and leave a negotiation with Canada for later. Trump has long advocated replacing the existing North American Free Trade Agreement (Nafta) that includes the US, Mexico, and Canada with bilateral trade agreements.
