In brief: Colombia

Colombia: Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has reported that the national unemployment rate stood at 9.5% in April. The latest unemployment figure is significantly higher than the 8.9% recorded in April 2017 and suggests that the unemployment rate is once again moving towards double digits after it fell to 9.4% in March compared with the 11.8% registered in January. This all points to a stagnation of the labour market, which has exhibited dynamism in recent years.
