Ecuador: Ecuador's President Lenín Moreno has sworn-in new cabinet members. These are Richard Martínez, the president of the private sector lobby Comité Empresarial Ecuatoriano (CEE), who is the new economy & finance minister; Boris Palacios Vásquez, who was promoted from deputy transport & public works minister to head up the portfolio; and Víctor Paúl Granda, who was moved from transport to secretary of policy. Meanwhile, Eduardo Jurado Béjar will serve as the new secretary general to the president; Juan Sebastián Roldán Proaño, a presidential advisor, as secretary to the president; and José Augusto Briones, an advisor in the hydrocarbons ministry, will head up planning and development secretariat (Senplades). The cabinet reshuffle takes place as Moreno begins his second year in office this month.
