* The president of the Mexican confederation of national chambers of trade, services, and tourism (Concanaco), José Manuel López Campos, has said that Concancano has signed a collaboration agreement with Chinese automotive firm Shanghai International Autocity Group to promote the establishment of a new electric car manufacturing plant in Mexico that will supply cars to the domestic market. According to López, the firm is currently in the process of selecting a site, and that as part of the deal Concanaco will help it to find local suppliers. López added that if the project is realised, it will be the first Chinese electric car manufacturing plant in Mexico.
