José Antonio Meade, the presidential candidate of Mexico’s ruling Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI), has challenged his presidential rivals to explain the provenance of all their assets in a public debate. “Those that owe nothing fear nothing. Let everyone know who is who in this election,” Meade goaded his rivals. Meade’s new campaign strategy appears to be to focus on showing that he is cleaner than clean and more determined to eradicate government corruption than any of his rivals.
