Peru: Left-wing parties opposition in the national congress have presented a second impeachment motion against President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, after he narrowly escaped being ousted last December. Opposition parties accuse Kuczynski of moral incapacity to govern for his alleged ties to Brazilian engineering company Odebrecht. The motion is led by César Villanueva from the Alianza para el Progreso (APP) party and secured 30 signatures - surpassing the 26-signature threshold. The impeachment motion needs 87 votes in Peru’s 130-seat unicameral chamber to go through. The vote on the motion will take place next week and the outcome largely depends on how the 59 deputies from the main right-wing opposition Fuerza Popular (FP) party vote.
