* President Michel Temer has appointed Fernando Segovia as Brazil’s new attaché to the country's embasy in Rome, Italy, after he was sacked from his previous position as chief of the federal police. This proved controversial because it goes against federal police protocol. Under their rules, members of the federal police force cannot be an attaché twice in the space of three years, and Segovia was an attaché at Brazil's embassy in South Africa last year.
