Within the next few weeks, the federal government will relocate 530 Venezuelan immigrants currently in Brazil’s northern state of Roraima. Of these, 180 will go to the neighbouring state of Amazonas, and the remaining 350 to the southern state of São Paulo. This is part of a wider strategy to address the humanitarian crisis after an influx of Venezuelans across the border into Brazil, leaving state authorities in Roraima hard pressed to provide for them.
