Chile: Chile’s car association, Asociación Nacional Automotriz de Chile (Anac), has released new figures showing that car sales sharply incrased in January. The data shows that 35,322 cars were sold in January, 29.3% more than in January 2017 (27,308). Anac announced that this was a record figure for the month, overtaking January 2014, when 34,224 units were sold. Total car sales in 2017 reached 360,900 units, up on 2016 (305,540), 2015 (282,232), and 2014 (337,594). However, this is still below the number reached in 2013: 378,240 sales. The largest-selling car manufacturer was US-based Chevrolet, followed by South Korea's Hyundai, Japan's Suzuki and Toyota, and South Korea's KIA.
