* Delegates from Brazil and Guyana have signed bilateral agreements to reinforce security to combat narco-trafficking and other transnational crimes at the shared border, and to pool their defence resources. This comes after a visit by Brazil's defence minister Raul Jungmann and a team of ministers to meet Guyana’s President David Granger. Talks also turned to the territorial dispute between Venezuela and Guyana over the Essequibo area. Jungmann said Brazil would only accept a peaceful resolution to the longstanding territorial dispute using diplomatic channels. “For the sake of regional stability, any forceful exit cannot be condoned”, he said.
