* Brazil’s state-owned oil company Petrobras has been fined by the national environmental regulator Ibama. The company agreed to pay over R$14m (US$4m) for five separate infractions after water pollution was found by the P-51 maritime platform owned by Petrobras in the Campos Basin, located on the northern coast of Rio de Janeiro state. This follows an investigation by Ibama which found Petrobras had underreported levels of water pollution by using out-of-date monitoring methods. In a statement, a representative for Petrobras said the company would review and update their monitoring systems.
