Panama: Panama’s trade & industry ministry (Mici) has announced that Panama and China have begun feasibility studies regarding a new free trade agreement (FTA) between the two countries. The announcement follows President Juan Carlos Varela’s visit to Beijing in November 2017 – his first official state visit there since he announced in June last that Panama was switching diplomatic ties from Taiwan to Beijing.
