Uruguay: The official investment and export promotion agency, Uruguay XXI, has reported that the country’s exports increased by 9.2% year-on-year in 2017 to reach US$9.06bn. This shows that demand for Uruguayan products is picking up following a three-year period of stagnating export levels. In 2017, Uruguay’s leading exports were beef, cellulose, and soya. The three largest importers of Uruguayan goods were China, Brazil, and the Netherlands.
