* The President of the federal chamber of deputies, Rodrigo Maia, has said on Twitter that the house will not accept any amendments to the labour reform bill via a presidential decree, known as a ‘medida provisória’ (MP). The bill, originally proposed by President Michel Temer’s government, was approved by the chamber of deputies in April and passed without amendment by the senate on Tuesday. But the senate only agreed not to tamper with the bill on the assumption that Temer would implement some changes using the MP.
