The consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.25% in June, compared with the previous month, bringing the annualised rate of inflation to 6.31%, according to figures released by Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi). This is Mexico’s highest 12-month rate of inflation since December 2008, Inegi reported. Mexico’s inflation rate in 2016 was 3.36%, slightly above the official target of 3%.
