ECONOMIC OVERVIEW: PERU

Growth: On 14 June, Peru’s central bank (BCRP) issued a report reducing the country’s economic forecast to 2.8% GDP growth for this year, down from the previous estimate of 3.5% GDP growth in March. Despite this lowered outlook, Peru’s recent growth figures are still above the regional average of 1.1% growth for 2017, according to a report from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) published on 19 May.
