In brief: Peru, Colombia, Ecuador

Peru: Auditor Walter Grados has ratified charges against Comptroller General Edgar Alarcón before the national congress for an expenses scandal, where Alarcón allegedly purchased 90 cars using public funds. Meanwhile Alarcón has pressed charges against Economy & Finance Minister Alfredo Thorne before congress for allegedly trying to pressure him to approve a controversial public-private project to build a new international airport in Chinchero, Cusco region. The case brought against Thorne could prompt President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski to call for a congressional vote of confidence in the cabinet (allowing the president to dissolve congress if they vote against his cabinet twice, which would trigger new elections).
