Argentina: The federal police has announced the arrest of 17 people including four Mexican nationals during an anti-narcotics operation in Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires province. The arrests came after the individuals were found to be in possession of 2 tonnes of cocaine. According to police reports, the gang, which is believed to have links to Mexican drug trafficking organisations, was preparing to ship the cocaine to Europe and Canada by hiding it in a consignment of steel coils. Security Minister Patricia Bullrich has said that the cocaine seizure is “the largest in Argentina’s history”.
