BARBADOS: Finance minister issues a ‘national call to arms’

Barbados is due to go to the polls no later than February 2018. The budget presented to parliament on 30 May by Finance Minister Christopher Sinckler of the ruling Democratic Labour Party (DLP) was not the sort of budget that traditionally appeals to voters. Instead he talked about the need for “steely resolve” and issued a “national call to arms”. He asked for all Barbadians to “join your government as we set about in the next weeks and months to define the future of Barbados”.
