Panama: Attorney General Kenia Porcell has travelled to Brazil where she met Brazil’s deputy prosecutor general, José Bonifacio Borges De Andrada. A press release from Porcell’s office notes that the aim of the visit was to coordinate mechanisms to address international assistance requested by Panama with regard to the investigations into the government corruption scheme involving Brazilian engineering firm Odebrecht. In her latest progress report on the case, delivered on 31 May, Porcell said that 36 people had been charged in relation to the investigations into the case being carried out in Panama.
