* The attorney general’s office has ordered the state-owned oil firm, Petrobras, and its subsidiary, Transpetro, to pay R$332m (US$100m) for environmental damage produced by a 2004 oil spill from one of Petrobras’s pipelines in the state of São Paulo, which affected the Parque Estatal de Serra do Mar nature reserve.
